LITHIUM X-MAS
In the beginning there was ... Lithium X-Mas   This band is very
near and dear to my heart.  What can you say about this band
except they are one of the "GREAT ONES".

So, I met Mark Ridlen long before I opened the Record store
through mutual music induced social events.  Of course Mark
and I are of the same sick music obsession genetic mutation, so as
soon as we were introduce we clicked liked beans & rice.

To me, Mark is a musical genius whose talents have merely been
touched.  His reckoning of music and twisted interpretation combine
to hail a truly original view of our culture, which spits out through
ALL of his musical endeavors.  Enough greasin up of my pal ...

Honestly, I am honored to have Lithium X-Mas as my first release
on Direct Hit Records.  This FINE little slab of music still brings joy
to my heart when played.

Lithium was the test - I'd never put out anything before so I jumped
with both feet into the mud, and with the help and support of my
Lithium friends, low and behold the magic begins.  Greg Snodis
masterfully supplied the quarter inch reel and off to the pressing
plant went Direct Hit's first single release. I am forever indebt to
Chris Merrlick for his endless flow of DH stickers, not to mention
Chris' amazing talent.  Mark & I hand xeroxed the covers and
inserts, which set us up for the big 7" debut release on Direct Hit
Records with none other then the Greatest Psche Band from Texas
Lithium X-Mas.

If you are the proud owner of this little slab of history, it currently is
sold in&out of record collectors for approximately $25 and up
dollars.  This tasty treat has the oh so troublesome "My Sweet
Lord" which resonates directly from Harrison's dead cancerous
tumors -- Next is "The Theme to Venus in Furs", and this is why we
love these guys sooo much - always on the most obscure tangent -
I'll let you do the websearch on the theme song from this bizarre
European jazz-horror film. Side 2 gives a classic Hawkwind (the
days with Lemmy) cover of the tune "Magnu".  To ice off this sweet
sweet slab is the Orginal Lithium tune "Swim to Mammy" which to
some sound like an acid trip, but for Lithium, just another day ...
