Michael Dean
Bomb was an all time fave of my ex-
husbands, and it was Sean who sought
out MWD.  We were in the process of
relocating from Dallas to San
Francisco, when a friendship was
fostered.  By the time we landed in SF,
talks were already spinning on a
release.  MWD is a self promoting
(egomaniac) short man with the exact
same kind of teeth that I have – grey
ones (nope, no pearly whites here)
unfortunately a side effect from a drug
they no longer prescribe to pregnant
women or infants, because, “ta-da”, it
horribly discolors the enamel of teeth.
When Michael starts on a project he is
unstoppable, which is the beauty of
working with him.  This was the first
and only “multi-media CD” released as
well as the LAST Direct Hit release.  I
think this slice of CD history is a
perfect reflection of the quintessential
sober Michael – this CD is totally
MWD, from his writing to his artwork to
his music.  Only element missing from
this CD is his new found passion and
excellent production of film (check out
“DYI or DIE” and “It/ll Be Better
Tomorrow”)  Many reasons why this is
the last DH release, but most evident is
the missing money element.  We didn’t
even do a cover or insert for
packaging – this pup is packaged in a
clear slim CD case with an avery
sticker stuck on the back with the CD
info.  Unfortunately for MWD my life
was spiraling into a nasty bout of
depression with the workings of a
divorce in progress.  Michael was a
good sport, and saw the writing on the
wall, so MWD did what he does best …
self promoted.  The reviewers didn’t
dig this and only slammed it in the
rags, but I think this is a tasty little treat
slid in somewhere from Bomb to Books
to Indie Film Director/Producer – this
CD fits right on into the mix.
